9th April is when IPL 2021 starts this year, everyone aware & looking forward to enjoying the cricket fest. We all love IPL and CSK is one of the most endearing teams to watch due to their consistent performance & the customer delight they provide for all of us. To compete & succeed everyone involved in this tournament undergoes the tough bio bubble environment which is very challenging. Like cricketers, everyone involved across the industry undergoes tough periods & challenging times. As the mystery of pandemic continues it is important to find ways to keep our businesses alive & sustain.
Expectation
In the modern world, expectations are much higher, it is very difficult to fulfill the desires of every customer by following a standard template. Everyone expects special care & attention else they are not happy with it. It goes well with the entire ecosystem be it internal or external customers. To manage the scenarios, we may have to figure out different ways.

This is not something which we all don’t know, in the whole process of busy schedules & work we tend to miss out or lose our focus on this, hence I believe in the present times it is important to realize the importance of the above & focus more on that thereby we can sustain during challenging times.
Customize
Everyone knows what customization all is about, however, if you introspect, we realize that we failed to change according to our internal & external needs.
Customize stands for “make or change something according to the buyers or user needs”.
Unless we align to this logic of fulfilling the specialized & specific needs of our stakeholders, it is difficult to win the hearts of our customers. When we offer customized solutions, we would be able to achieve customer delight easily. It is very important to understand this fact & start following this approach in our industry.
I can quote many examples for this, one of the examples which I would like to quote here is UC – Urban Company. They have won people’s hearts by serving home services in demand which was the need of the hour requirement of many of us. Their Salon for Men & Women is one of the best classic examples of customize.
Service
How often we use this word & hear the importance of doing service to people who belong to the industry.
Service stands for “function of serving or Contribution to the welfare of others”.
During ancient times without talking or using much of this word, everyone used to manage to do this well. In the modern era though we all speak a lot about this & at length about service, but the reality is different. Mostly servicing is being done keeping the returns & benefits in mind nowadays except few. One thing which is important to realize here is the monitory benefits & returns are the byproduct of the best in class service being offered by us to our customers. Be it name, fame or salary or companies’ growth or turn over, etc., you will be able to get those out when you rightly understood the real meaning of Service & apply better which gives a win-win for sure.
One of the examples which come to my mind is our freedom fighters who were led by the father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi. Service can win the hearts of your customers which in turn gives business benefits which we aim for. When we understand the right meaning of service & apply it in our working methodology.
Knowledge
Again, Knowledge is a very familiar word for all of us & we use this plenty of times in a day. Whereas do we use this word effectively with the right understanding? If we ask ourselves, we know the answer to it. How much time do we spend trying to gain knowledge about customers & provide customized service based on the knowledge attained?
Knowledge stands for “facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or learning “
we all know about KYC- know your customer. Higher the knowledge we gain about our customers, easier to customized service for them, which will enable us to sustain our businesses.
Due to these pandemic scenarios normal ways of traveling & meeting customers in person will not happen at least for some more time. Now we get a good amount of time to sit & gain knowledge about our business & customer needs which is a great advantage on business context.
An immediate example running in my mind here is of ID batter, the company which went in detail & gained knowledge on needs of the customers in-depth. Today the solution they offer to the market is a real breather for many working women & bachelor professionals to fulfill their needs of homemade food at this challenging times where having an outside choice itself was not there for a couple of months & it was a safety threat as well.
Industry Premier League-IPL
Original IPL is the Indian Premier League which is a professional twenty20 cricket league in which teams face the battle of challenges & overcome with the win. Our scenario is nowhere different than theirs, it goes very well for the industry as well. 2020 had thrown a great number of challenges, it’s time to compete with those challenges & come out successfully which is the responsibility of all of us as we are part of this ecosystem that has given life & lifestyle to all of us.
To Summarize
To manage the challenges, scenarios better & to have a sustainable business it is wise to adapt to the new normal circumstances with the approach of CSK
